xTool Slide Extension for F2/F1/F1 Lite – Expanded Working Area for Longer Projects

The xTool Slide Extension is designed for users of the xTool F2, F1, and F1 Lite who regularly work with materials or objects that exceed the machine’s built-in engraving area. By attaching the extension, the effective working surface increases to roughly four times the standard size, making it practical for engraving longer boards, larger flat items, or materials that need to be processed in multiple passes without moving the laser head or repositioning the machine.

How It Works

The Slide Extension functions as a sliding feed platform. The workpiece is placed on the extension and can be moved incrementally through the laser’s engraving zone. This allows the user to engrave one section of a long piece, then advance the material and continue engraving the next section — effectively covering a much larger total surface than the base machine allows. The process is controlled through xTool Studio, which handles alignment and job segmentation for multi-pass work.

Focus and Preview

The extension is compatible with both manual and automatic focus modes available on the F2, F1, and F1 Lite. Before each engraving pass, users can run a frame or outline preview directly on the material, making it straightforward to verify placement and alignment before the laser fires. This is particularly useful when working across multiple sections where precise positioning is critical.

Material Compatibility

The Slide Extension does not limit the material range of the underlying laser. It remains compatible with the full range of materials supported by the F2, F1, and F1 Lite — including wood, leather, acrylic, anodized aluminum, and more than 500 other compatible materials. Speed and precision are maintained at the same level as without the extension.

Material Holding

The extension includes five clamps that can be used to secure workpieces on the platform during engraving. This prevents unintended movement between passes and helps maintain consistent alignment across longer jobs.
