Technical Construction and Materials
At the core of the DiamondBack series is the solid PCD insert. Unlike coated nozzles, the tip consists of thousands of diamond crystals sintered together. This creates a surface hardness that far exceeds hardened steel or tungsten carbide. The material’s thermal properties ensure efficient energy transfer to the filament, often allowing for printing at lower temperatures while maintaining high volumetric flow.
Performance and Maintenance
The polished diamond tip features very low surface energy, preventing molten plastic from adhering to the nozzle exterior and reducing the risk of clogs. The uniform heat distribution enhances the tensile strength of printed parts through optimized molecular bonding between layers. The nozzle maintains its precise geometry over time, even when consistently running abrasive materials such as Carbon Fiber (CF) or glow-in-the-dark filaments.
Installation and Calibration
These HotEnds are designed as direct replacements for the original components, requiring no hardware modifications. Upon installation, a standard calibration in Bambu Studio (temperature tower and retraction test) is recommended to optimize settings for the diamond’s high thermal efficiency. The product supports temperatures up to 350°C and is available in 0.20 mm, 0.40 mm, 0.60 mm, and 0.80 mm diameters.
