Bambu Lab H2D TPU High-Flow Kit – Faster, More Reliable Flexible Filament Printing

The H2D TPU High-Flow Kit is a dedicated hotend upgrade developed by Bambu Lab to improve the printing performance of flexible TPU filaments on the H2D and H2D Pro. The standard hotend is optimised for a broad range of materials, but the TPU High-Flow hotend uses a specially designed inner coating and an extended melt zone to reduce extrusion resistance specifically for flexible materials. This results in significantly higher flow rates and more stable extrusion during TPU printing.

Performance

When printing 90A TPU, the High-Flow hotend delivers up to 100% higher volumetric flow rate compared to the standard hotend. For typical applications such as footwear, flexible phone cases, or other elastomeric parts, this translates to approximately 30% shorter print times.

Specially Tuned for Bambu TPU Filaments

Print parameters are precisely pre-tuned for Bambu TPU 85A, Bambu TPU 90A, and Bambu TPU 95A HF, meaning the printer will apply optimised settings automatically without requiring manual parameter adjustment. The kit is also compatible with third-party TPU filaments, though pre-tuned profiles apply only to Bambu TPU materials.

Filament Compatibility

The TPU High-Flow Kit is compatible with the following filaments: Bambu TPU 85A, Bambu TPU 90A, Bambu TPU 95A, Bambu TPU 95A HF, and generic TPU.

Installation Guide

Installation takes only a few minutes. Remove the toolhead front cover, take out the filament cutter, install the TPU filament guide, and slide in the TPU High-Flow hotend. The TPU hotend cover must be used in conjunction with the TPU hotend — it is structurally different from the standard H2 series hotend cover.

Important Limitations

  • Right nozzle only: The TPU hotend must be installed on the right nozzle. Installing it on the left nozzle will cause the nozzle lifting mechanism to malfunction.
  • No filament cutter: After installing the TPU hotend, the filament cutter cannot be used. Automatic filament changing and automatic filament feeding and retracting are not supported on the right nozzle when the TPU hotend is installed.
  • Flexible filaments only: The TPU hotend’s inner coating is designed exclusively for flexible filaments. Printing hard filaments such as PLA, PETG, or AMS-compatible TPU through the TPU hotend will wear and damage the coating.
