Product Overview
Raise3D Hyper Speed PLA is a high-performance thermoplastic formulated to maximize productivity without compromising print quality. Through optimized molecular weight and flow characteristics, it melts rapidly in the nozzle and cools quickly, enabling precise layer definition and smooth finish—even at ultra-high speeds.
It dramatically enhances mechanical performance under fast printing conditions. The material exhibits stronger interlayer bonding and improved impact resistance and is especially suited for the Hyper Speed printers like the Pro3 HS Series and printers equipped with the Hyper Speed upgrade.
Mechanical & Thermal Properties
This filament outperforms standard PLA in both rigidity and durability. It demonstrates excellent Z‑axis strength and impact resistance thanks to enhanced interlayer cohesion. With a measured density around 1.21 g/cm³, it maintains dimensional stability even during fast extrusion.
The heat distortion temperature (HDT) of approximately 55–58 °C is typical for PLA and suitable for many prototyping and lightweight structural applications.
Printability & Setup
Recommended operating parameters: nozzle temperatures between 200–230 °C, bed temperature at 45–60 °C, layer thickness at 0.10–0.20 mm, and print speeds ranging from 50 up to 300 mm/s (in combination with Hyper FFF hardware). A cooling fan is essential for optimal surface finish.
Hardware compatibility requires Hyper Speed Hot Ends, Auto Calibrator, and compatible filament on supported models like the Pro3 Series with Hyper Speed mode enabled. Running at max speeds without the proper setup may lead to quality issues.
Best Practices
- Ensure filament is dry—store in sealed packaging or spool in dry environment.
- Use cooling fan during printing to maintain sharp details.
- Default nozzle diameter is 0.4 mm; other sizes like 0.2, 0.6, 0.8 mm are compatible depending on profile.
- Proper bed adhesion is critical; a heated surface at 45–60 °C supports accurate first-layer adhesion and minimal warping.
Applications & Compatibility
Ideal for rapid prototyping, design models, jigs and fixtures, manufacturing aids, visualization, and art/sculpture projects. With strong mechanical properties and high fidelity at speed, it’s well suited for both function-driven and visual models.
Hyper Speed PLA is made from renewable resources, offering a more sustainable option compared to traditional filaments. Multiple color variants are available.
Compatibility & Extras
Raise3D Hyper Speed PLA supports the Hyper FFF™ ecosystem: Pro3 HS Series, Pro3 with upgrade kit, RMF500, and compatible firmware and slicing profiles. To achieve rates up to 300 mm/s, ensure your system is fully equipped with Hyper Speed hardware and firmware.
Please note that for Hyper Speed to function correctly, the Hyper Speed Hot Ends 0.4mm (Pro3 Series Only), the Hyper Speed Auto Calibrator (Pro3 Series Only), and the Hyper Speed Filaments must be installed on a Pro3 Series printer activated with Hyper Speed Mode. The absence of any of these components may result in printing failure.
